Terrazzo

A comic & manga reader for iPhone and iPad.

Terrazzo reads your comics wherever they already live: on your device, on a NAS over SMB, in iCloud Drive, or on your own Komga server. It never copies, moves or changes your files. The app keeps a catalogue of where things are and how far you have read. Your library stays exactly where you put it.

Streaming from a NAS, without downloading

Opening a CBZ over SMB does not download it. Terrazzo reads the ZIP end-of-central-directory record off the end of the file, parses the central directory, then fetches individual pages by byte range as you turn them. A 400 MB volume opens in roughly the time it takes to read the last 64 KB of it. Covers, embedded metadata and page turns all work the same way.

The result is that a large library on a network share behaves like a local one, without filling up your phone.

What it does

Privacy

No analytics, no crash reporting SDK, no accounts, and no server of ours anywhere. The App Store privacy label reads "Data Not Collected" and it is accurate. The only network traffic Terrazzo makes is to your own iCloud account, your own network share or Komga server, and optional metadata lookups you turn on yourself.

Even the bug report button opens your own mail client rather than sending anything. Full details in the privacy policy.

Support

It helps to include your device, your iOS version, and what you were doing when it happened. If a particular comic is involved, its file format and roughly how large it is are useful too.

Common questions

Where are my comics stored?

On your device, or wherever you keep them: a network share, iCloud Drive, or a Komga server. Terrazzo reads them where they live and never uploads them.

What does iCloud sync actually sync?

Your reading progress, bookmarks, lists, ratings and reviews. Not the comic files themselves. It uses your own private iCloud storage.

I read a comic on another device and progress didn't carry over.

Both devices need to be signed into the same Apple Account with iCloud sync turned on, and both need to have scanned the same comic. Progress is matched to the file, so a device that hasn't seen the file yet has nothing to apply it to.

Do you see my library?

No. There is no Terrazzo server. See the privacy policy.

Does Terrazzo find or download comics for me?

No. It has no catalogue, no store and no search for content. It only opens files you already have and point it at.
